Behind the Scenery

I don't think the real Sarah Palin is stupid. She's ignorant, lazy-minded, and incurious—a narcisist who lived most of her life among people she could easily deceive, and who consequently never had to exert herself, but she is not stupid.

There is another Sarah Palin. A creation of the media, partly real, partly imaginary; a composite, a stitched-together bride of our time. That is the SARAH of this play. My problem is to try give depth to such a creature. I expect to fail, but it will be fun to try.
